2012 Carolina Recycling Association Conference

Call for Presentations: Student presentations are encouraged!

CRC is calling on you for presentations to be delivered during the CRC track at the March 2012 CRA conference in Asheville, NC.  We are looking for your best practices, favorite programs and practical solutions.

Possible topics include:

  • Behavior and Marketing (Social Marketing and Behavior Change, Branding, Peer Marketing and Eco Reps)
  • Bins and Labeling (Branding, Composting, Athletic Venues, Public Areas, Residence Halls, Single Stream, Outdoor Litter, Special Events, Office)
  • Composting (Zero Waste Events or Dining Halls, Single-Use Dining Ware, Waste Handling, Compost Facilities, Worms, Residential Composting Programs )
  • Move-in and Move-out (Housing Office Perspective, Recycling Office Perspective, Sales, Special Waste Stream Collections)
  • Single Stream (Lessons Learned, To Consolidate Or Not, Containers, Collection, Bags )
  • Special Events (Sport Venues, Tailgate Recycling, Campus Concerts & Festivals)
  • Special Items (Hospital, Labs, Construction & Demolition, Plastic Film, Mattresses)
  • The Business of Recycling (Strategic Planning, Financing, Contracts)
  • Trainings as Done by Students (Green Evens, Residence Halls, Eco Reps, Departmental)

Your submission should include an abstract of your presentation including:

  • the title,
  • a 5-7 sentence description,
  • your intended audience,
  • the length of presentation (15-20 minutes or entire one hour session) and
  • a short bio for the presenter(s), including contact information, full name, title, institution or company, phone and email address.

If your presentation is chosen your conference registration will be free on the day you speak. Or you can receive the reduced speaker rate of $175 for the entire conference.

Please make your applications to Kathy Boutin-Pasterz by November 18, 2011.  The CRC Conference Committee will notify successful applicants by December 9, 2011.
