Internship– NC

HOPE Gardens is seeking summer staff members to help support and manage the garden.

Are you planning to stay in Chapel Hill this summer? Apply to be part of the HOPE Gardens summer staff! A position on the HOPE Gardens summer staff is a great way to get involved in the local community and to meet and work with other motivated students. Staff members will work directly with our Garden Manager to run the Garden over the summer months. Please fill out the application and email it to nchopegardens@gmail.com.

We are looking for applications for the following positions:

Urban Farm Coordinator
The Urban Farm Coordinator will help manage the physical Garden space, focusing on the area that produces the vegetables for sale in our markets.

Produce Markets Coordinator
The Produce Markets Coordinator will primarily facilitate the Community Supported Agriculture program in association with CEF. They will also manage our weekly Pick ‘N’ Pay market on-site and the occasional produce sales to Vimala’s Curryblossom Cafe. Finally, they will also manage the finances from these sales.

Community Gardener Coordinator
The Community Gardener Coordinator will act as a liaison between the student staff of HOPE Gardens and the community members who work each of the Garden’s 25 smaller, annually-leased plots. They will also ensure that members of the sponsored plot program are receiving necessary attention and assistance from community and student staff members.

Community Outreach Coordinator
The Community Outreach Coordinator will work with our community partners to maintain and establish relationships between HOPE Gardens and low-income or homeless communities in Chapel Hill. They will also organize and facilitate monthly potlucks at the Gardens.

Public Relations Coordinator
The Public Relations Coordinator will manage HOPE Garden’s web presence, create and send a monthly newsletter, update social media sources, and build our network of community support.
