In Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, the Supreme Court ruled that corporations’ spending on campaign advertisements cannot be limited because it is a First Amendment free speech right. The Student Environmental Action Coalition, 350.org, and the UNC Scholars Program will host an event Monday, April 9, at 7:00 PM in the Hanes Art Center Auditorium to address the effects of Citizens United on environmental policy.
