China-based Ming Yang Wind Power recently opened a research and development center at NC State University, signaling a step toward the potential construction of wind farms in North Carolina. The move is expected to build on existing efforts, including a 2009 study led by Harvey Seim, a marine sciences professor at Carolina, to bring wind power to the state.
