Queen City Forward is seeking an Executive Director.

This is an opportunity to lead a local team, work with a strong, diverse board, grow a dynamic, high-impact entrepreneurial organization, and work with a state-wide support team dedicated to ensuring QCF’s success and connecting Charlotte’s entrepreneurial community with a network of change-makers throughout NC.

QCF’s Executive Director will be responsible for establishing and growing Queen City Forward as it strives to encourage, enable, and scale high-impact sustainable enterprises that create enduring social change in Charlotte and beyond. Queen City Forward is a non-profit Affiliate of Forward Ventures and will leverage and customize Bull City Forward’s model of sustainable enterprise development in Durham, North Carolina.   • Fundraising (with support of Forward Ventures team)
  • Board Relations
  • Finances
  • Maintain current year operating budget 
  • Consistently rework future years budgets
  • Produce and refine program budgets
  • Partnership development throughout the Greater Charlotte community
  • Strategic planning (with support from Forward Ventures team)
  • Media relations
  • Public relations
  • Conferences
  • Public Speaking
  • Regional branding/marketing work (with support of Forward Ventures Director of Operations and Strategy
  • Oversee Membership Manager and Resource Manager
  • Program Oversight
  • Membership Recruitment and Support (lead by Community Manager)
  • Educational Programming (lead by Resource Manager)
  • Site management (lead by Resource Manager)
  • Social Events (lead by Resource Manager)
  • Enterprise/talent recruitment, retention, and support (lead by Community Manager)

 Education, skills, and experience preferred: 
  • Masters degree or above
  • Proven skills in fund raising and financial management
  • Deep knowledge of community needs and initiatives
  • Strong relationships across public, private, and citizen sectors
  • Passion for social entrepreneurship and systemic change
  • Strong entrepreneurial drive and project implementation experience
  • Start-up experience and know how
  • Desire to participate in and champion Forward Ventures’ state-wide vision for communities of change
