UNC and Ecuador Partners Dedicate Galapagos Science Center

UNC College of Arts and Sciences News
The Galapagos Islands provide an ideal setting for exploring Carolina blue skies, crystal clear water and exotic marine life. The archipelago, located 600 miles off the coast of Ecuador, is also a perfect place to study the delicate balance between preserving and promoting paradise, known as "the Galapagos paradox." A partnership between UNC and the Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ) has resulted in the establishment of the Galapagos Science Center to explore these issues and more through interdisciplinary research and teaching.
