The UNC biology department is hiring a summer undergraduate for field and laboratory research on caterpillars and butterflies.
Field/Lab Research Position

Insect Ecology and Evolution

Starting May 2012

Drs. Lauren Buckley and Joel Kingsolver of the UNC biology department are seeking a full-time (40 hours/week) undergraduate research helper for research on caterpillars and butterflies during summer 2012. Research involves a combination of field, laboratory, and greenhouse work. For the first part of the summer (May-early July) the work will be based at UNC; the second part of the summer (July through mid-August) will involve butterfly field research in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. Flexibility in schedule, ability to work out of doors and basic computer skills (e.g. Excel) are needed. Interest and background in ecology, evolution, insects, or field biology are a plus. There are possibilities for continuing part-time work or research next academic year.

Compensation is $8-10/hour, depending on experience and background.
