The N.C. Coastal Federation will host a coastal energy summit on Friday, June 24 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at the New Bern Riverfront Convention Center. The day-long meeting will feature findings the N.C. Coastal Federation's 2011 State of the Coast Report that will explore renewable energy options such as wind, solar and biofuels.
Speakers include experts from: Duke, UNC, NCSU, N.C. Biofuels Center, N.C. Solar Center, N.C. Department of Commerce, FLS Energy, N.C. Offshore Wind Coalition, N.C. Coastal Federation, Environmental Defense, and the N.C. Sustainable Energy Association. The summit will focus on the economic and environmental implications for future energy production along our coast. Potential future policy options will also be discussed.
Cost of the summit is $25.00 for NCCF members and $40.00 for non-members (includes NCCF membership). Event registration includes lunch, breaks, exhibit tour and event materials.
